Meet the Team

  • A third-generation entrepreneurial builder, Brian founded Morrish Design in 2018 after relocating to Moses Lake to raise his family. Seeing a need for structural engineering in the area, he launched the firm to help bring dream homes to life.

    Brian specializes in efficient, effective residential design, with a deep understanding of complex framing systems and how they support architectural intent. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (class of 2009), where he studied alongside Alan. His early career included project engineering with Allshouse Engineering (now Praxis), where he found pride in seeing his designs built.

    Brian is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in both Washington and California. Outside of work, he enjoys bass fishing, hiking, and home improvement projects.

  • Alan’s passion for architecture and building materials began on family vacations to Lake Tahoe, sparking a lifelong interest in how structures shape our environment. In 2022, he moved to Spokane to join Brian in building a company with their shared vision and values.

    Alan brings a strong focus on safe, resilient, and sustainable design to Morrish Design. He earned a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2009, where he studied alongside Brian. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Associate at KPFF in Southern California, where he specialized in evaluating aging structures and developed a passion for adaptive reuse and sustainable building practices.

    Alan is a licensed Structural Engineer and Professional Civil Engineer in both Washington and California. He’s an active member of the Urban Land Institute and Greater Spokane Incorporated.

    Outside of work, Alan enjoys rock climbing, hiking, slow mornings with pour-over coffee, and spending time with family.
